Most YVA members would be aware that the field at Bleases Lane is actually part of a General Aviation Airstrip – Albeit privately owned.
This means that at various times there will be full size aircraft from various flying schools and the owner of the property themselves using the field for the purposes of landing, practice approaches, and touch and goes.
The agreed procedure if a GA pilot wishes to approach or land is to circuit the field at a height of 1000 feet to indicate their intention.
All YVA members are expected to watch for GA aircraft at all times and to give way to GA aircraft at all times.
There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule.
If a GA Aircraft indicates intention to approach the strip, all model pilots must ground models and clear the strip.
GA AIRCRAFT HAVE RIGHT OF WAY AT ALL TIMES.
If you have any questions relating to this, please do not hesitate to contact a committee member.
